Hello, loves!
The end of October / start of November has been a turbulent month for me. A mixture of very high highs, but very low lows. Lot's of excitement and fun celebrating my birthday, and other special moments. As well as lots of doom scrolling, bed rotting and stressful work days.
On my creative journey, I felt a bit stumped at the beginning of November. A combination of work stress and a lack of motivation. So, I set myself a goal to keep my spirits up. I have decided that this year I will be channeling my love for Christmas and need to create into making personalised Christmas cards for my loved ones. So far, I've loved spending a couple evenings a week creating one of one Christmas designs, with a range of techniques from watercolour experimentation, to using my new acrylic paint markers bought with my birthday pennies. Below are three of the first card's I have made - I am proud of my efforts so far (I wish they photographed better!) but I would love to improve my writing! I hope my hand written messages haven't ruined the designs.
In personal news, I enjoyed celebrating my 29th birthday with my love. As one of my gifts, he sent off to have personalised business cards made - my favourite, most thoughtful gift I've received this year. They are embossed, too! I am hoping to stick these in each of the Christmas cards I make to share my new portfolio site with my nearest and dearest.
And maybe the biggest birthday gift of all, the weekend of my birthday we had an offer accepted on our potential first home! Extremely exciting times ahead. We are trying very hard not to jump the hun and get too excited too soon, but everything has gone smoothly so far!
For the rest of November, and start of December, my efforts will be directed towards finishing my Christmas card collection, as well as creating a Christmas performance video for my work. I am excited to embrace Christmas this year, with hope it will keep my spirits high.
Love always, Sarah Eliza X
